Bo-Katan was born into a royal family, but we first meet her as a leader of the "Nite Owls", a faction of Mandalorians under Death Watch that held to the violent beliefs of their past.

Maul used his influence and power to infiltrate Mandalore via the Death Watch siezing control of the system. Bo-Katan never accepted his rule and defected from Death Watch to save her Sister Satine's life.

Bo-Katan knew Ahsoka well, and fought alongside her during the siege of Mandalore.

After the Clone Wars, Bo received the Darksaber from Sabine Wren, accepting it on behalf of her late sister.

After surrendering the Darksaber to Moff Gideon during the night of a thousand tears, Bo Katan had given up hope of ever leading her people, until Din Djarin arrived reigniting her hope, and eventually leading her to rightfully reclaim the ancient blade.
